Bob and Kate Ballew started XL Angus Ranch and BK Farms after a lifelong passion and interest in seedstock cattle and performance horses. After 40 years in the oil and gas industry, the Ballew’s finally “retired” and started fulfilling their dream. BK Farms and XLAR operates in the heart of Central Wyoming along the Platte River and the base of Casper Mountain. In the short time in operation, BK Farms has produced reining Cow Horse World Champions at Oklahoma City and Reno, NV. XLAR has strived to acquire and produce elite Black Angus with balanced genetics through the XLAR breeding program. Herdsman – Toby Brashier was born and raised in Casper, WY. His family has been in ranching for generations. He has worked with horses and cows for years and his 6 years of experience at a local feed store has been valuable. Toby enjoys team roping, hunting, fishing and to spend time with his wife Wendy. He is an integral part of the growth of XLAR and happy to have him on board!
